    Hoosier Halloween Hang Planning Thread

This is the planning thread for the Hoosier Halloween Hang.

I have made the poll multiple choice so that I could fit two questions into one poll. Please select your preferred date, and whether we should stay at the same place, or move to a different location.

If you choose "Somewhere Else" post your preference for the different location in the thread.

Thanks for starting. I think we need a poll to go with it though.

I'm for the weekend before halloween. The 25th 26th of October. That's sort of the traditional date for the hang, I believe for the most part. I can probably be flexible on both date and/or location.

CVII has been good, The Henge and/or Bad Hollow works too. We've been there before https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC8XfGJYv3I

Lets roll guys. I think either location calls for a scouting trip beforehand

I think you need to think about, where to park 25-30 cars. Ease of getting everybody to site. Not interfering with deer and turkey hunters in certain areas of Hoosier National Forests, hunting,,, while this is going, on as in my opinion, the Chas Deam is best suited for late Oct., and last but not least, convienence and ease of quality h2o also.

Acer makes for a good point. The Deam is well suited, and where we've been mostly. The Sycamore loop trail, is also handy for those who wish a for bit more of a hiking experience. Just do the fire trail section first and run the trail backwards to CVII. An extremely nice hike.

Yep. I was second to cast.

Actually I'd like to vote for a hang on 10-24 and 11-7!

If you've been to one, you'll agree, once in the spring and fall, just isn't enough woodfired pizza!

I have a thought/suggestion for NEXT YEAR. There may be others in my shoes.

I have to request time off for the year in January each year. Judging by the poll, this will be the second year I guessed incorrectly on the dates of this hang.

Can we decide (maybe during the raffle at the hang) on a regular weekend to have this every year? Say, the weekend before Halloween weekend, or something like that? It would make it easier, not only for those who need to plan ahead for time off, but also to work in other fall trips.

    Thoughts?

It generally has been the same date and appears to be the same again according to those voting. It's early still and some may not have had a chance to vote, but 2 months away, I think it's time to decide.
