    Question about WoopieSlings

is it better to have longer ones at each end of your hammock say 8' or shorter 6' ? how small/will the 8' compress to vs the 6'

OK, i know, im New so bear with me, can someone maybe give me the pro's and con's of each length? etc... I will be installing / replacing my ENO ugly rope with new woopieslings just trying
to see if I made a good choice getting the longer ones?

Longer is better imo, better to not get caught short, you chose the right ones

I made mine starting with 12' pieces and they can adjust down to 16" length including the bury and loop, and then extend out to almost 7'.

No matter how long you make the whoopie, the minimum length (compressed length) is the same. It's the length of the bury plus the length of the eye plus it's bury.

Remember, you can make the whoopie as long as you like, but depending on your height, a ladder will be required at some point to get it high enough on the tree!

thanks guys, glad i got the 8' ones, i am using the AIO from Woopieslings.com for my kids, but my wife and I are going straight woopiesling. when they come in i will take the eno cord out and put the woopie in, then i need to setup the adjustable structural ridge line i got from woopeislings.com also.

One more question, on using woopieslings only, how/what do u do to keep any rain that hits the sling, travels down to the hammock? i know in the AIO systems i got for my kids there is a "Ring" that is suppose to act as a water drip/stop but not sure on the sling? do i just tie some rope/? or something to act as a water stop. just trying to see what works best. thanks.

I use dutch hooks but you can tie a small strip of cotton or shamwow on the line just under your tarp to do the same thing.
