I do love me some bamboo and that fits the bill. Great job at the TL stand on steroids. And yes, that would be a turtlelady stand with a larger crossbar.

Check out this bamboo stand thread from XTrekker.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Thanks, sliver! Carpet tape, right? Think I may have some of that around here someplace.

One of the poles slipped through it's lashing twice, down to a joint -- need to find a solution for that -- some kind of fastener --glue, tape, or staple....
A band clamp inside a piece of vinyl tubing is one fix. When I had a problem with 2x2's slipping in the lashings (after applying a water proofer) I cross drilled them and glued sections of wooden dowel rod in them. I has a very clean appearance.

This photo has notes i suggested to another member for notching the corners, but it shows my cross dowels.

I have converted my wooden tripods from metal hardware to a traditional lashing. Each pole had an existing hole thru it from the hardware so I just ran my line thru the holes first then finished lashing. No way for it to slip down now.

Yes, sometimes a solution just presents itself.

I could rip this mondo piece of redwood in two and have one to sell or give away at a hang.
