    Another hammock stand thread

    http://m.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-1...KDTP/203605090
So this might be a stupid question but my neighbor has one these stands for an old hammock he doesn't use anymore and was going to give it to me for free. Would it work fine with my WBBB? Or does it need a pole across the top for support. I am pretty sure I could use it bite I just wanted to make sure first

I have a stand just like that one, but my Blackbird would sag all the way down to the middle pole when I got in it. So I bent the two upright poles to make it work better. take your poles to a muffler shop or somewhere that can bend poles. Find the center of the pole then measure up and down six inches so you have one foot between the bends. Make each bend ten degrees. If you did it right it will shorten the distance between to the two ends but should have also raised them up higher off the ground.

15' hammock stand? Plenty of room to hang a WBBB.
You don't need the support pole on the top... the pole down the bottom should be all the support you need. It's rated to 450lbs too. Reading a few of the reviews in your link makes me think it's the "creaking & wobbly" type deal but you can't beat free?

I have two of those. Same thing happened that dangerous stated, the ends are too low IMO. I hang my 10ft DangerBird on it, but it almost touches the bottom pole. If its free. Have at it. I wouldn't buy again
    I'd rather be hanging.

That stinks! I was just thinking of buying one for $100 from the local HomeDepot (don't feel like making my own, or digging a hole to put a 6x6 in my yard).

Any other better options around this price point?

Yeah for free its not bad. Instead of bending it I might make some removable extensions out of piping. Thoughts?

Not as cheap, but the Vario stand would be better because it's adjustable both at the base and the arms. You might also think about making your own stand out of pipe; see link below.

I have the Vario stand and my one complaint so far is that the maximum height is 4 ft and some inches. I would much prefer six feet, so I'm planning to hang from my walls.
