    Norwood,

I'm a BMW K1200 LTC tourer.... Lot of hammock choices out there... Personally, I use a JRB BMBH....DUH.... After a day of riding with a slight bend in the lower back to reach the bars , basic normal riding position, the far flatter lay of the BMBH is a real pleasure... But still any hammock beats the ground.

I recommend that you get a large rectangular or near rectangular tarp....With boots, riding gear, camp gear etc a large tarp is nice.... I even put my beemer under it beside the BMBH most nights... Personally, I use a JRB 11x10 Cat Tarp but a basic 12x10 will work and since you don't have to carry it why not go bigger.... Carry a set of collapsable poles that get to 5' or so.... Real handy at camp grounds where trees are sparce... such as Holiday travel Park north of Daytona.

    Rubber side down.
