    changing up HH DJ

have been looking alot at dif. setups to hang with.

am thinking of putting cont. loops on hammock and then use 1" webbing and Dutch buckles to hook at loop and adjust lenght of suspension with the buckle.
what lenght loop would I need for a HH DJ XL

thinking that will cut down on parts and weight and keep it simple.
just put strap around tree and but buckle and loop together and adjust from there.
any thoughts of how this will work or cause any problems.

I just put continuous loops on both my expedition and my survivor. I used 14 inch loops. I started with a 44 inch piece of amsteel, with 1 inch taper on each end, 5.5 inch bury (50x rope diameter) on each end, had a "loss" of about 1.5 inch on each end, and ended up with a 14 inch loop. You can find videos on you tube or whoopieslings.com on how to thread the loop into the HH. Works great. The loops allow you to use whatever suspension you want.

that has been my thinking about the loops cause i can do alot of dif things with them.
    biner
    rings
    dutch buckle
    cinch buckle
    whoopie
my son decided he wants rappel rings for his new ultralite backpacker.
also watched Dutch's video on HH and looked at our new ones and they have sewn ends with the webbing not the holes. so an 8" loop should work great for us I think.
i've seen the rings put one loop close to hammock and on the tree huggers.
what are the pro's and con's to the 2 diff. placements of the rings.
