    Smile Who knew?!?!?!

Good Morning! Hammock life - where have you been all of mine?!?!? I won't retire my tents but the hammock is such a great addition to the options for spending time outdoors. Fall is kicking in and there are already some trees showing their true colors - this season promises to be full of eye candy - I look forward to taking some of it in via the hammock and will be preparing for some winter camping, also. It's nice to find a place where useful information is bountiful. Cheers!

Welcome aloft from McCormick, SC., and welcome to the madness. Before long you will be talking hammock talk and non-hammockers will look at you like your crazy. Even your family members may look at you that way, that is until you introduce them to hammocking. My family still looks at me like I'm crazy, and it's been 3 years. Enjoy!!!!!!

Welcome. People definitely think that I'm crazy. Luckily you have stumbled upon a group of helpful folks that are equally obsessed with hanging from small cords and are preparing to do so in bad weather. So you will seem normal here.
I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.

    There is no madness here,
Where else can you communicate with folks with strange names on the internet?
Make plans to meet them in the woods with any kind of weather?
    Talk about sewing and material?
Put up a tarp, and hang under it with this material, straps, or cords?
Who else will know a storm is in the making, rush out to hang a tarp and hammock just to lay under and enjoy the storm?
Come to think of it The Grandkids and I did just that, in all the rush I forgot the drip linesl
Just think with my imagination you can listen to all that here on Hammock Forums Radio. Come to think of it a Team Speak Server is not a bad idea.

    Welcome from Philly.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

Welcome to hammock camping and hopefully much more. I have been camping in hammocks for about 40 years, but I still own several tents including a very small backpacking 1 person model. There are a few places that I enjoy camping where a hammock is just not the best option. But if something can be rigged up to hang from that is how I prefer to sleep. I hope it works for you. There IS a solution for almost every issue you will encounter. Actually, there are generally dozens of solutions. LOL
