    Zion Hammock Camping Advice

    Hi All -

There are a few old posts on here about hammock camping in Zion but none that answer my specific question.

Seems like it is possible, but I would love to confirm the hanging potential in our permit sites: Narrows Site #9 and La Verkin Trail Site #8.

If you have camped in these sites and can let me know if you can hang there, I would greatly appreciate it. Pictures would be even better!

    Thanks in advance!

    David

    Hi David,
If you don't get an answer from someone who has used that site I'd try GoogleEarth sat picts and zoom right down on these site.
I do that all the time when investigating new locals.

You should be fine at both sites. I assume you mean LaVerkin creek, right? If you don't mind I would love to tag along on that one, there is a very well kept secret up there that I've been dying to see.

West rim Zion campsites are good for hammocking.

Thanks everyone. A friend of mine secured the permits, so I'm not real familiar with the sites and photos online are not too helpful. I think I'll try to catalog the sites better for folks on Hammock Forums so they know what sites are good. The sites in the canyon are what I really don't know about. They are tough to see with satellite imaging. I've heard that most of the west rim sites have trees, so I expect to be able to hammock there.
