Hammock within a hammock?

I call it a Gear Loft too, when its not holding gear at night, it's a spare hammock chair during the day. I started using this when I switched to my DIY R-III Hammock (it was the first hammock I made without a shelf).

Otter, what are the dimensions and how do you attach it?

Nice! I have the same idea to hang my baby boy with his mother, how do you attach it? Prussic to the ridge line?

That looks very nice. I don't think I would have enough room in my HH UL Backpacker. The ridge line and bug netting seem very low, cant sit up without having my head push up on them. Maybe this is why its so light? When looking at pictures of WBB or Dream hammock, they look much more roomier.

The hammock is a bit deceiving, it’s an 11’ bed so it’s very roomy. The gear Loft is hooked to prusik’s , it slides down the RL to make room when I’m just sitting in it.

That's a great way to do this. I've thinking about making a gear hammock and this might be a perfect solution. How are these attached to the system? Does the upper one just connect to the ridgeline and does the lower one simply hang from the hammock suspension? Do you ever feel the lower one while laying in it?

Apologies for confusion, the item under the hammock in the image is my ¾ length fitted UQ, I only use a RL Loft. As for size/dimensions, this one seconds as a hammock chair so it’s fairly large. Finished dimensions are 56”x42” with rolled hems on the sides and 1” channels on the ends. It hooks into 2 continues loop pursik’s on the RL.

Saw that one in person..or perhaps the RII version in the Spring at MAHHA. Let's just say that [o]tter is the man. So awesome.

I’ve been using the hammock in all season’s for a year now and it’s holding up like a champ, not that I need another one but I want to make one out of 1.6 Argon because I’m hearing great things about the fabric and I'm a slave to trends.
