    Parson Trail AZ

Decided to check out a trail I'd never been on today. It's called the Parson Trail and it's over towards Cottonwood, AZ. I bring my hammock on all day hikes so I can count it as a mini hang! I think I'd like to come back here for an overnighter when the weather warms up a bit. Here are some pics.

Nice looking spot, thanks for sharing.

Using your dog as a suspension anchor is a new one to me.

Hey domromer, it looks like a beautiful day for a hike out there at Parsons. That just happens to be the location of the last AZ hang we went on earlier this year. Am looking forward to meeting you on the upcoming AZ hang this weekend. After looking at yours, I'm also very tempted to bring along my ENO DoubleNest, particularly since we won't be doing much hiking. For a no-net, non-weight critical use, it's probably my favorite hammock. Definitely night and day compared to the Nano 7 I went out in a week ago. I think I'll throw a set of whoopies on it this week.

Yeah I'm a big fan of the double nest. I've tried other more expensive hammock but I keep going back to it. I keep meaning to change out the suspension on it. But 99% of it use is day hikes and the weight and strech slap straps isn't even an issue. When I get back from the AZ hang I'll probably break down and order some amsteel and webbing and go with the double marlin hitch set up.

Directions to the trailhead, hike description, more pictures available here. HikeArizona is a great resource. Membership is free.

Beautiful! I'm putting this trail on my TODO list; thanks for sharing! What were the temperatures like when you were out? This might be a good mid-December hike...
