    My Second Tarp

A week ago I was finally able to sit down and make a BlackCat Tarp. I've had the material for a couple months, just not the time. I got it done in time to test it out on a Scout Camporee this past weekend. I'm happy with it and love the extra coverage I get over my previous homemade Cat Cut Tarp. I was going to use a gray 1.9 that I had for the corner reinforcements but just a day or 2 before starting on it I was in Wally World and they had some nice looking Mustard Yellow material. It offers a very nice contrast.

I also made a BlackBishop sack for stuffing my HH and Nest. You can see it in the first pic.

    Cool project.

It might pitch a little tighter if you try pulling the corners out at a different angle. That made a big difference on mine.

If making a tarp wasn't such a b***h I would make me a tarp with a darker color. I really like the Black Cats.

    Nice job Stoikurt. Looks great.

Well done stoikurt. Did you use the macro I wrote? Just wondering, because I would love feedback from those that used it.

I did use your macro. It was fine. Rounding the depths off to the nearest 1/8 inch created a little bit of zigzag in some areas if you just connect the dots. Once I plotted them all on my template I used a straight edge to connect the dots and had to skip over some just to keep a smooth curve going. All in all it was helpful.

I had placed a comment on the result graph about that. Also, BB mentioned that you had to eyeball a curve once you have the measurements placed. It was more or less to get a good guide for drawing the curve.

Oh, there is also no need to actually do 100 measurements. I am not quite sure why I put so many. I should have just put one measurement per inch. I suppose I could update it.

Stoikurt, it's quite a nice lookin piece of gear. Great job on that project, I especially like the mustard yellow corner reinforcements. Good to hear it works as good as it looks.
