Which UQ - Incubator or Phoenix

I've decided that I'm definitely going with hammock gear, now I just need to decide which one - man, there's just too many options.

What kind of camping do you do? If you're backpacking and concerned with weight go with a phoenix. If you're a cold sleeper or are not worried about an extra few oz then go with the incubator.

I'm pretty recreational, I don't tend to press for miles. As far as sleeping goes, I sleep a bit warm on the whole.

I got a short Incubator. I had a short quilt and didn't seem quite enough for me, but the reg size full length seemed like a bit of overkill. I'm 5'10", so not exactly short, but the shorter quilt fits me from my neck to under my feet. (I use a pillow)

Have fun deciding...I have spent too many hours in the last month trying to decide which top quilt to buy. Finally decided and ordered a 20 degree Burrow from HG yesterday.
You are right - too many choices and too many variables

The time I have wasted on staring at hammock gear. . . if I got paid to do so, the quilts would be free.

I am 5'7" and have the short incubator, love it!!! You will not be dissapointed in any of the products they offer, but I am prepare for the worst hope for the best kinda guy, so I would go with the incubator.

I am in the final debate stages on this myself.

For 40* I go with a 3/4 UQ. I currently have a HG full length 20* UQ and I am thinking on going to a 3/4 instead. I do have a sit pad for my feet and that works fine for me. The full length is definitely easier to set up but it is a little overkill for me. If I do this I will look to get a full length 0* UQ in case the temperatures are going to be cold and want the extra protection.

My first UQ was a 20* Phoenix - I consider it to be the most versatile UQ you can get - light enough for hiking but warm enough for colder temps. I used mine from 70* F down to 10* F (with a foam pad in the footbox of the TQ).

I've since added a 40* Phoenix and 0* Incubator to my arsenal, but the 20* Phoenix is still the UQ I use the most. I generally use the 40* Phoenix in summer, and the Incubator only comes out when temps are lower than 20* F.

I got a slightly overstuffed 0* incubator. I already have a DIY synthetic that gets me comfortable to around 35-40*. The incubator is really nice and warm. It treated me very well on the Foothills trail back in march, and in the gorges state park last january when I woke up to ice on the plants and my tarp. i went with a slightly lighter top quilt at 20*, because I use a fleece liner anyway (I just like the fabric feel better than the nylon on my hammocks and quilts), and the top quilt bunches up and fluffs up some at the edges when I'm in the hammock.
