That's true. But even if it had been out, the cost is just entirely too much. There's no way I would spend almost $20 per square yard. The epsilon material has been working out just fine. And the DIY silicone has been holding up perfectly.

Well SirMarkos, I finally finished the tarp. Man, it's big! It was really breezy today and when I strung it up for the first time, it caught a lot of wind. But i played with it a bit, pitching it straight, and with doors, and in porch mode. By the way, got any tips for keeping it taught in porch mode? I had a lot of sag.

I have to say, this was an exercise in perseverance. I had more challenges putting this together than I ever thought I'd come up against. I'm learning to sew so that's the first...uh...wisdom-maker. I'm learning how to sew using my wife's thread injector. That's the second wisdom-maker. It's temperamental, cantankerous, and has zero tolerance for the likes of me. This morning I was reloading the bobbin, and it blew up. Literally, the top of the bobbin shot straight up in the air and in less than two seconds all that thread uncoiled into the grandest birds nest you can imagine.

All things considered, I'm really happy with it. In the stuff sack, with 8 stakes, it weighs in at 2 pounds. Took me about 10 hours of time, but i learned a bunch. Thanks for the inspiration.
