Ready to take the plunge...need advice

    Hey guys
I have been looking over all the goodies on the site. Like a kid in a candy store...Im sure you all know what I mean.
Only problem is that I have never used any of this stuff before so Im kinda confused as to "how" some of it works.
Some of the products have the video, which are great by the way. Simple, straightforward instructions without long boring introductions. Great job on those Dutch!

So Im looking for advice on what to do with my tarp. Its a Clark XL. No CLR, just 8 "tie outs" (I guess would be the right word). I would like to use Stingerz with Zing it or Lash it spliced for the tieouts that go to trees.
Im not sure what to use for the other tieouts that go to stakes....
Was thinking line locks or the loc 3, but my guylines that came with the tarp are too thin for the 3's I believe. Stingerz all the way around would be easy, but would actually get a little pricey.

Can u guys steer me in the right direction with this?
Should I just ditch the guylines I have and go with Zing it or Lash it and use lineloc 3's? Or what other options do I have?

Also, what is the difference b/w Zing it and Lash it? Just Color?

Btw, also going to pick up the argon hammock with whoopee suspension....SWEET!

    Thnx guys....appreciate the help

The Stingerz are for the ridgeline, not for the guy lines. I use them like this, but you can also buy them with the line spliced onto the Stingerz themselves.

I use Lash-It for all my guy lines. The guy line itself is a line with a spliced loop at one end (the end that connects to the stake). Then I use a continuous loop as a prussik (connects the tie out and the guy line). This is fairly simple and works well. You could easily use the Linelocs that Dutch sells. Warbonnet has a good video to show you more methods.

Zing-It is yellow, Lash-It is silver/white. Otherwise they're identical. Both come in 2 different diameters.

    Great...Thnx Hutz.

Just a few more questions for you.

If I get 50 ft of Lash it for guylines, do I cut and splice the loops myself? Or can I get them with the loops already spliced?

Also, which line is better to see in the dark?

    Thnx again

I don't know if there's anybody selling spliced guy lines anymore. Whoopieslings.com used to sell them, but they cost about $8 the piece. After splicing them myself, I thought the price was reasonable, but I think they probably don't sell them anymore because few people spend $32 to get guy lines for one tarp...

It's fairly easy to splice the guy lines, once you get the hang of it. There are plenty of threads here showing you how to do it. It just takes patience and time. But the result is worth it, I think. The big break-through for me was when I discovered that it's actually easy to splice when you feaze the end you want to pull into the line.

I don't really know. I guess it's a matter of taste. If you want reflecting guy lines, Dutch sells these as well. I don't think those are spliceable, though.
