    Not trying to bring down the company or anything. I love their hammocks like many of you. However, I think we should know about how they are as a business, and this is disappointing.

    That's interesting. Are you the one who found the inconsistencies or just spotted them while browsing products? If it is indeed true then that is sad. If the owners indeed left positive feedback on their own product then hopefully they've spent time using the item like anyone else like we would expect any reviewer to do.

    People associated with a company/product post up something positive about said company/product??
    Double shocking!

    That would never happen here on HF.

    It happens all the time, ain't nuthin' but a thang. Here we call them cheerleaders.

    When it comes to reviews, usually the quality of the reviewer / review is self-evident.

    Still love my GT Double. Great goto hammock for day hikes and nap time.

    I know Cannibal had some serious heartburn with GT over something that happened here on HF. Can't remember specifics.

    For the past year I have been an Amazon reviewer for SoloStove and Fox Outfitters. Every so often they will send me a new product to test and review. But different from Grand Trunk, we aren't paid, though we do get to keep the product. Also we are encouraged to be truthful and honest in our reviews. I believe there is a group of about 10 of us. I believe they feel any reviews are better than none for a new product. Honestly my reviews are pretty favorable. But I always tend to look for the positive anything and try to point that out. I don't like to be negative if a product doesn't happen to fit into my exact style of camping.

    This sort of marketing is fine in my eyes. But I don't think it is right for the owners of a company to do such.

    All that being said, I now have 5 solo stoves. good thing I like them. I did own one before I started reviewing them,

    But they aren't "reviewing" their products. They are just putting 5 star reviews. This tells us something about their character. I'm not trying to shock all of you, I know people do this. But from a very popular hammock company that it is just sad.

    So maybe if you are stuck between one of their products versus someone else's, think about what kind of company you are buying from.

    Really? A self promoting retail company/manufacturer who says good things about themselves and their products is sad? Then every company is guilty!

    What is the difference in this and paying for airtime on radio or TV, or paying Yojimbo for a review?

    They broke Amazon's terms of service and Amazon should take appropriate action, but I would expect them to self promote.
