I have been preparing for my bi-annual solo canoe trip in Algonquin Park and planning to use a hammock for the first time. Gave my new set-up a test run last night in a cold and heavy rainstorm in mid-Michigan. It rained all day and most of the night with temps falling into the mid-40s. I stayed warm and dry and woke up without the normal aches and pains of sleeping on the ground. I am hooked!
My set-up:
- ENO Single Nest hammock
- Hennessy Hex tarp with Lash-it guy lines and RL
- Thermarest ProLite3 pad with ENO Hot Spot sleeve
- Marmot Helium down bag
The Hammock Forums was a tremendous help in figuring out my set-up. I can now head out on my solo trip confident of being able to sleep well. Thanks!
