    Hammock friendly campground

    Traveling by motorcycle to Maggie valley / Cherokee NC.. anyone have any recommendations for a campground which has sites available or sites that can be used for hammocks?

    I've stayed at Smokemont campground several times. Most every site has trees for hanging. Here's a list of other camp sites that should be hammock friendly as well. Enjoy your trip and don't forget the trip report.
    Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

    Blueridge Motorcycle Campground lets hammocks hang. It's in Curuso NC 6 mi off the Blueridge & close to Maggie Valley. Motorcycles only. Phil & Leslie are excellent host & cook on weekends. My wife & I spend a week there each summer & going back for 4 days late October this year.

    Elkmont is very central and allow hammocks. If you go there you want to be on the loop to the left after you go over the bridge. Those sites have a lot of trees and are spaced out and less traffic.
