Hello. I have been wanting to try hammock camping for about two years. Recently REI had a big sale on their ENO hammocks and I got a Double Nest. I found the forums while trying to figure out how to get comfortable in it. After reading and experimenting I am certain I need a longer hammock and maybe a wider hammock. I am 6 feet 6 inches tall with a size 16 foot and about 280 pounds. I am into 3 season backpacking, kayak camping, car camping, and want to try mild 4 season camping. I am trying to research appropriate hammocks, suspension systems, under quilts, tarps, etc. I am very thankful for the amount of information on these forums.

Glad you took the plunge after thinking about it for so long. I'm the wrong person to give advice about a larger hammock, being barely 5'9" myself, but I've seen threads discussing the subject. Make a general search using keywords like tall person hammocks and such you'll find some very good suggestions with a lot of specific recommendations, maybe even some cottage vendors willing to custom craft something for you.

Welcome to the forums DzDiver. My next door neighbor is 6' 7" tall and we had fun playing Goldilocks trying to find a suitable hammock for him. Although he could lay in my ENO doublenest, it was way too short for him. He tried my Warbonnet XLC and loved it. He took a 2 hour nap in it and decided it was the one for him. Maybe the WBXLC will work for you.
