A tale of two quilts

I've got a DIY poncho liner underquilt and a JRb Shenandoah 50 degree down quilt (extra long). Both are fine for the "winter" we have here. So what's the best use for each; down on the bottom and pluq on top, or vice versa?

JRB Shenandoah ontop and the pluq on the bottom. The best way to test what works best for you is to just try it in the backyard in the temps it will be used most.

I'd put the JRB on the bottom and pluq on top.

Ha! Oppositie answers. I've already made the no-sew PLUQ, and it looks like it will work great, but it won't be cool enough around here for several months. Plus there are no trees in my yard. Everyone emphasizes the need for bottom insulation rather than top insulation, so I figured the better insulator should be secured to the bottom.

Ah, yes, if the pluq is better, then put it on the bottom.

The poncho liner I got recently would not be as good on the bottom. Seems awfully thin to me.
