Being from Denmark as well, I faced the same problems

I bought some ripstop from extremetextil.de a while back to make myself an UQP. Haven't gotten around to it yet, but the price was quite reasonable. I didn't get the dwr or calendered variant so I'm hoping it will still be useful. Hope to get on it within the next two weeks before autumn really starts.
Seems easy to make and materials were cheap, will let you know how it turns out.

Wouldn't a polycro (sheet plastic) UQP cause condensation problems?

How important is it to use or dwr treated ripstop over regular "plain" ripstop?

More important the smaller your tarp is.

I meant calendered in order to gain wind resistance. Dwr for water resistance of course. But pitching tight can usually solve that.

I wouldn't make a Non calendared uqp. That would be pretty pointless since that's where most of the wind resistance comes from.

I would agree with what others have said. The point of the calendaring is to make the weave tighter, thus reducing air movement and heat loss in this application. For DWR it depends on the weather and tarp. It can either serve as a splash guard or a fog repellant.
