WBBB ridge line adjuster.

The amount of sag I prefer in my WBBB is a bit more than what Brandon has designed into the BlackBird. This results in a bit of a droopy bug netting. Instead of shortening the structural ridge line a light weight, easy to install, multi-positional length adjuster was installed. See photo. Just couple lengths of chord attached by a Klemheist knot (Prusik type of knot) connected by a Nitz #1 mini carabiner. The adjustment thing allows for easy ridge line length adjustment, positioning anywhere along the ridge line and hanging stuff.

Great idea for shortening a ridgeline - other then allowing quick connect - what is the purpose of the biner? Couldn't you simply add the cord with the 2 prussik knots?

Wow. you do gotta be quick here. I was litteraly just outside taking pics of my version of this exact same device. I sometimes hang very loosly and needed to fix this prob too. I used two prussics with a short length of shock cord between.

just hang your hammock really loosely and try it. this device only tightens the ridgeline artificially to keep the bug netting out of your face and has no actual impact on lay.

shorter ridgelines can _sometimes_ help with the center tension ridge that many gathered end hammocks have. If you want to play with a shorter structural ridgeline it might be worth using something other than shock cord for adjustibility. If you just want to support the bugnet shock cord would be a great solution.

1st line tweaker was a single length of chord connected to end loop & Prusik type of knot similar to MacEntyre's no cut system. Decided wanted a combo adjuster and hanging loop that can be positioned anywhere on the ridge line. Mini carabiner used because I can't figure out how to tie Prusik type of knots at both ends of a single length of chord. Plus it's my spare. If needed I'll just tie a knot between the two chords. Once in the hammock I just tension enough to lift the bug net tight. Not a structural component. No effect on the lay.
