I'm a larger guy at 6'2" and 245# looking to buy a top quilt. Having a hard time figuring out what length and width would be best. Would love recommendations from other big fellas. Will probably buy a 20 degree quilt.

I just bought a 20* Burrow from Hammock Gear (arrived yesterday). I am 6'4" and 200#. I got the long length (79") and regular width (50"). Tonite will be its first use but from laying in the hammock in the 'test lab' I can say that is is plenty long enough - would probably be good for someone up to 6'7". I ordered the standard width instead of the wide because my hammock is rather narrow (only about 30" at the mid-point) and it seems to have plenty of width to tuck around me. In fact, the DIY top quilt I was using was made from leftover poncho liner from other projects - it was only 43" wide and was wide enough to cover me sufficiently in the temps it was good for (down to around 50*).
Now, different manufacturers may have different methods of closing the foot box which may effect the usable length.

My recommendation is that you go as wide as possible. I have an underground quilt that is long and is 55 inches wide. It's very important to have width to wrap around you on a very cold night.

+1 for UGQ. I'm 6'4" and 375 and they hooked me up right a few years ago. Since then, they've added more sizes and customization options.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.
Call Adam at Hammock Gear, he will work with you to get a good fit. He did with me and I'm completely satisfied and more importantly, warm!

All my morning aches and pains went away when I discovered hammock camping!
Every vendor on here either makes long and wide quilts or will custom make one for you, and they're all great products. Do a little research and decide what works best for you.
Wilderness Logics has a XXL TQ that is 60" wide 78" long.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!
Thanks for posing this question, I was looking for some TQ ideas for myself today as well.
bottom line....no matter who you work with, a TQ that's 78" x 55" will work just fine. That's what mine are and I'm 6'1 270.
Remember...no matter where you go...there you are.
