while we are talking about magna...

Ok so I am curious if anyone has either had success or failure in ordering from magnafabrics.

I have ordered twice. The first one was in the store version of his website. It was an older style website with more of a selection. The second time I ordered from the newer website. They are both magnafabrics. The first one I got, and the second one never arrived.

The prices can't be beat, but I am asking is the success or failure have to do with which version of the site we used?

My efforts have been mixed. The first my request timed out (old site) so I emailed Larry and he promptly (after a quick 'hey are you getting to this?' reminder email) sent me a paypal invoice and the tracking number the next day. I emailed him last week asking for a similar transaction on non-critical fabric and never heard back but never followed up, so I'm not too worried. The newer site has fewer options for shipping.

I ordered off the old site once, and everything went smoothly. I also emailed in before my purchase and got a response from Larry fairly promptly. But this was Sep. 2013. E-mail I have from then is [email protected]

Yes, from the people I have talked to the old site works. The new one is more of a problem. I have a bunch of people asking for ma to make some stuff, so I may be ordering a good bit from him. I will start emailing ahead of time.

I have ordered from him 3 times with no problem. I just checked and the current site does not look like the one I ordered from.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

    Thanks for the heads up.

I guess I am getting too dated, I want some type of contact before I send $ my trust has been shattered too many times.

I realize it is difficult to work on getting orders prepared for shipping and use email or voice mail yet that is a important part of doing business, at least in what appears to be my old
fashion mind. I think many members of HF work on trust with our vendor's, maybe that is good. Personally I want contact before I commit.

Many have had great experiences with larry@magna. My first one was great. My second one crashed and burned. What I would say is if you are looking to buy some stock material go with magna. If you are trying to get something specific and need to be able to rely on something, another vendor then. In the long run you can't beat magna on cost. And the products they have had, that I bought were as equal to the cheaper stuff purchased from other vendors ( I would bet they either buy from Larry or they are both hunting the same sources).
