Hanging offers more than a light pack. A hammock packs much smaller than a 2 man tent. It is cooler in the summer. They are less expensive.
Best of all, U get to sleep more comfortably.

First, Welcome to the forum ALHikerGal. I am also exploring the world of hammocking.
Second, y'all repeat after me "I am powerless over making & buying gear and my bank account & gear / fabric storage area is unmanageable."
I don't have a storage area, unless you consider under a coffee table storage.
