I always take along way more than I need, can we say... where's the kitchen sink, oh Tina's got it
    weekends, mostly
and as often as I can get out of the house. I've finally noticed that I really (I mean really) need to vaccum!!

How long is a rope? If it's camping, I'm down.

That said, mostly ATV or truck, at least once a month...usually just for a night, but a couple of weeklong stays during deer season, and another during turkey season.

I take an embarassing amount of stuff.

I use it for work, which can and has meant up to three months out bush. This is like car camping I guess.

I also use it for lightweight hiking trips - 7 or 8 days.

I've also been known to use it in the backyard when I'm testing new sleeping gear prior to a trip.

Mostly backpacking for me, but car camping will do if thats all I can manage. Gear wise my base pack weight was headed way down -- close to 12 pounds a month or two ago, but has come back up with the purchase of some better gear and the need to DIY some gear to get me through till I can buy better stuff--IE under quilt & tarp. For now I am closer to 15 pounds. Food depends on the length of trip but at least 2 pounds per day on the trail, maybe a bit more sometimes, just depends on the kind of trip. Some trips are stake and whisky trips and some are jerky, instant mashed taters and water trips Clothing in summer is usually swim trunks, T shirt and a hat, plus thermals and rain gear in the pack if I need them. Trip length is what ever I can manage to get-- a weekend or overnight to week or more if possible. But most years(since having kids) only a few trips a year. But the boys are growing and are almost big enough to take along on overnighters on easy trials.

    Backpacking

Pack baseweight 10-12lbs (depending on how cold it is)

With 2L of water and food, 16 - 19 lbs for up to 3 nights.

I try to get out every other weekend.

Mostly weekend style solo yo-yo backpacking. Total pack weight is about 26 lbs (up to 28 depending on food choice and warm clothing options). Hiking mileage is in the range of 9-12 miles per day, thus enabling a Sunday return distance that gets me back to my car by mid-day (and home by dinner time after a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive).
