New to hanging and hammock forums

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am brand new to hammock forums and pretty new to hammocking, about a year or so now. Took my eno out for the first time last summer in uwharrie and fell in love with hammocks so after a lot of you tubing I invested in a WB blackbird. Did a 3 day hike in Grayson Highlands and a trip to Cades Cove in GSMNP. I primarily camp in the winter. Don't care for all the bugs. I am looking to join some hangs in NC,SC, VA, TN, GA,( driving distance) me people and increase my knowledge of hammocking.

Welcome - sounds like you are well on your way. Your equipment list looks well thought out also - but I don't get the "It Works" Tarp - I'll guess it is just a temp one. I agree that colder weather is perfect hammock weather. I just passed through your area last week returning from Beaufort SC. It was a bit hot/muggy/buggy in SC for me - NC/Virginia and farther North are entering perfect weather conditions for me.

Welcome fro Ga., and for what it is worth, N.C. is loaded with good folks who love hiking and hanging, try to meet some of them, you will be glad you did.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

Welcome from Garner. You should try and make it out to the Yates Place hang coming up in about a month. Rumor has it there will be some of the best cooking going on by the best cook you could ever find in the woods.
