    maybe a great find?

I bought this down quilt at a surplus store. Tag says 60% down to 40% feathers. After reclaiming approx 16 ounces of down with very few feathers, I like my find pretty well. Each square section holds approx 1 ounce of down. have at least 30 more sections left to recover. I paid $50.00 for the queen sized quilt. The color looks nice and I just do not see many feathers. I know its hard to tell from picture but what do y'all think? Should be enough for a top and bottom quilt i would think. What's your .02?

Wow. Seems like a steal to me. Thing is you may not know how much you need if you don't know the fill power. (I'm quite partial to the dream hammock down fill calc) good luck!

You can probably get a rough calculation of fill power by figuring out how large each of the chambers is. If each contains ~1 oz of fill power, take width, height, length of one chamber, and multiply. The number of cubic inches you get as a result is the rough fill power (FP is cubic inches of loft per ounce).

    Hope it helps!

That sounds like a good plan. At least some reference point. Thanks FLRider!!
