    IN> adventure hiking trail> oct 16-19

Anyone interested in doing this trail? I've never been so any advice is also welcome. Thanks to wildrandall62 for a nice YouTube video inspiration! These dates may be a little past the peak fall colors but it's my fall break and I'm sure it'll still be nice.

Actually that should be right at peak, or even before if memory serves me. But of course it can always change year by year.

I can't make all of those dates but I might be able to meet up with you on the trail over that weekend. Where about is it?

It's in the Harrison Crawford forest in southern indiana, it crosses through O'bannon state park.

Hmm. I might squeeze in some fishing on the Ohio. I'll need to figure out launch options and what not. Would hate to be that close to the river and not get my boat a little wet!

Hmm, all of the places I thought would be good spots are terrible spots. Haha, I'm going to have to sit down with google earth for a bit and figure this one out. Turns out, there original spot I was looking at is actually sitting atop a cliff; with no real "easy" way to get to it from the river.

From my understanding there is no river access from or to the trail. There are a few launches in the state park and surrounding area. Caching water seems to be a must also. Karst region makes it very difficult to get water unless it's actually raining.

Yeah, i'm expecting that we'll have to hike some from the river to get onto the trail itself. Just trying to find spots that aren't as difficult as others. I certainly wouldn't want to hold you up, so I think maybe we'll plan to go elsewhere until I get a chance to really see that area first hand. If we weren't dead set on fishing, it wouldn't be a problem but our windows of opportunity, fishing wise, are vanishing quickly.
