    Trimming down the pack using the gregory Z55 (55L) packed light and the kids torpedo sled again. And yes stew meat and Beverages will be attending.

    I'll be bringing the kid size snow shovel. I like having a good pile on at least one side of the tarp.

    Help needed from those familiar with Hoist Lake area . Vulture , Michigan Dave etc etc . Any fish in Carp Lake you think ? Thinking about bring some tip ups .

    That's a nice thing about winter with snow - free wind break! You could even skip the shovel and use the back end of a snowshoe. That's what I do and it was definitely needed last time! Here's 3club walking down the trail:

    Yeah I kind of figured that too . I just like the idea of harvesting something on these campouts . Fall is easy with squirrel and wild edibles etc but winter not so much . Some of the guys talking about running down some Snowshoe rabbits which sounds difficult for a snowshoe challenged guy like me .

    That would be fun just for something different to do. I haven't seen one for 15 years, so I never got into hunting them. Maybe I'll bring the 20ga auto loader if my small game license I purchased for grouse hunting counts.

    Mark, if you bought a MI base liscense for the season, it's good for all small game. I'm not sure about hunting regulations in a National Forest, but I know it's good on state land.
