    Michigan Winter Camp . Jan 9 , 10,11 . East of Grayling Michigan .

Another camp at Hoist Lake wilderness area . App one mile hike from car . Should be lots of snow again . Here's some pics from last year . Everyone invited of course .
    Heading past Houghton lake village

    Some Hammock guys hiking back

About 15 or 18 inches of snow , no snow mobile trails as they are not allowed .

Early planning Joe, I like it! I'll put it on the calendar and hopefully it won't be 40° and misty this go around! Actually it was 7° when I hiked in around midnight, but then the heat wave came in. Good times though.

Yes! I was beginning to wonder if anyone would plan another winter hang. Close to home for me, so I have to do it!...just have to swap my work schedule around a bit and possibly establish camp Thursday. Going to take a lesson from Mark and only bring what I can pack in on my back...or get a better sled ;-)

Let me know if you need help in the planning for this in the coming months be it recon, or logistic support. And thank you Joe, for picking the ball back up on this.

Can't commit as of now, but if I am in MI at the time it will be on the list
    Life's A Journey
It's not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body,
But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting,
    Woo Hoo!....What a Ride!

I'll see if I can make it this year. Count me in as very likely.

I might be able to go... Depends on my wife's schedule. I'll know in a couple weeks I did a few solo weekenders there over the summer.

More random winter pics . These are from last February . Lots of snow then .

    Homemade Hikers nifty setup .

Davros brought a little snow shovel with him and created a snow compound that we spent most of our time in . It was great wih temps about 10 degrees and the wind off the lake .
