    Grand Trunk Ultralight

I throw mine in my pack whenever I go on a day hike. That hammock paired with hammock anchors, continuos loops, and 4' tree straps makes for a tiny, lightweight comfort item.

I've never tried to spend a night in it but it makes a great lounger and camp chair.

My first hammocks, I have 3 currently and one lives in my work backpack along with 2 ten foot lengths of knotted paracord and two 36 inch whoopie slings. Sets up in under a minute and take down is about the same. Working on a tree farm is pretty cool, Lots of places to set up so long as the rest of the field crew is away on break or otherwise occupied ;-)

I just picked up one myself, the green one. I really wish they had a hybrid of this with the skeeter beeter.. Light weight with the zippered mesh. The skeeter beeter seems a little large for me. I figure since they don't I'll just do a separate bugnet. Can't go wrong with the price though, under $18 on Amazon.ca

Any suggestions on how to hang this indoors to test it out? In my basement preferably.. I have a drop ceiling so I could always put some loops up on the floor joists but I'm not sure if that would be too high at 8 feet.. I'd probably need to stretch 20'+ to keep the angle at 30 degrees

It was my first hammock also. I moved to WBBB and my son has now taken my Grand Trunk over. I treated it to woopies upgrade for Christmas. It resides in my daypack in case I run across a perfect hanging site in need of a hammock with my carcass resting comfortably in it.

It is 9'.. I'm guess they give the material measurements.. 9.5' includes the doubled fabric for sewn channel ends.. only 54" wide

The hooks are horrendous to, I removed them and the stock loop and it took 83g(3 oz) off of the total weight. The hammock is now 264g (9.4oz) .. this still includes the stuff sack.
Amazon said a weight rating of 250, but the GT site says 200.. I may just pass this one off to my 12 year old and get myself a longer NylonD from Dutch.

I agree about the s hooks, definitely not ultralight. I may replace mine with a couple of mini biners from Buckingham, 600lb max load each but quite light.

I have one of these, you can't beat the price! I also use it to stash my gear, I hang it just above my hammock and it works great!

    Grand Trunk Ultralight

It was my 1st trial into hammocking and convinced me on my 1st overnight er!
Got cold-butt syndrome but then found this forum and now I own a dream hammock, Hammock Gear UQ, built a TQ as my 1st DIY project, and have all new UL camping gear!
Sure the GTUL was cheap, but it was just like opening Pandora's box to a world of wonder!
Went from a 30lb pack down to a base weight under 8lbs. All thanks to a little GT hammock from Amazon...
    Good luck!

I used mine for the last year. I love that the polyester doesn't stretch too much. I changed out the stock suspension & put on whoopie slings.

It's great for day hikes and lounging around. I've used mine for overnight trips and could not get comfortable...too much calf pressure. I'm sticking with my 11 footer for camping.
