C+1 and Life Scout and Dancing Spider will be there. Yeaaaa
I do need to mention that the situation will be somewhat fluid... liquid
We are currently VERY wet (I was told that Hidden Hammock we where did our first hang down here would be better titled "Hidden Pond") but fortunately the rains have slowed down so we are drying. Slowly. I'll do some recon at both sites to make sure that we have some dry ground at the camp sites before that weekend but plan on your feet getting wet at some point.
Having said that, Lake Godwin road is... part of greater Lake Godwin during the rainy season. If you don't have a fair bit of clearance then you might not want to drive that road (my Ford Explorer for work is a bit risky right now so I don't even drive it for work unless I need to). If you do decide to drive it go slow and STAY IN THE ROAD since it has a good solid base, it's just got some deep spots. For most folks it would probably be best to start/meet at our normal meeting spot (the one on the map) at the bridge on Rucks Dairy road and then hike the orange trail counter-clockwise to Isabell. We'll basically be doing the same loop as the spring trip that we did but in the opposite direction. I think that puts it at about 12 miles or so for the weekend (don't quote me on that number). There are shorter options for getting to Lakeside (like the red trail that I have in the map) that I will most likely take so that I'm going easy on my kneesy. You're welcome to join me on the shorter route.
It looks like we'll be having a shakedown trip on Oct 24-26 on Walk-in-Water. I'll probably be able to post that one tomorrow (Friday).
Dave
P.S. Don't forget to pay your entrance fee ($2/person/day) at the kiosk by the bridge on Rucks Dairy road and hang the little tab thingie on your rear-view mirror so that law enforcement knows you have paid. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me

Gonna try to make this. Depends on new schedule at work. So far I am not laid off. Made the cut again! If I can, will try to get Friday off too.
