    suspension straps for hennessey

I have already done the search and can't find the post. I know I saw someone post a suspenison mod for the HHULBP or the likes. I would like to add the webbing instead of the ropes. I think this will speed up set up and break down. It will also allow for better consistant tenison on the hammock.
Can you tell me where the straps can be purchased and who has the pics on how to make the modification.
    Thanking everyone ahead of time.

I left the original ropes intact (even though that means I still have to carry the weight). Then I got some strong (I forget the exact tensile strength) 3/32" line that I connected with a larkspur. This holds my SMC rings in place. Finally I made 12' straps with 1" polypro.

pretty much what Jax said except I cut my ropes after tying them off to finish the ends.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Did this to my Expedition ASYM, it was a piece of cake. Overwheling at first, but once I started, I was taking pictures of the original knot and never needed them.

Post 17 has my pictures. Oh, and I kept the original rope and straps incase I ever sell it.

I purchased my straps from Wallyworld as tow straps with a working load of 1000lbs. and cut off the hook with a dremel. I think they were 17 bucks. I used the SMC rings from REI. I had the 20kN ones, but they were a bit overkill so I retired them for the ones I believe most seem to use here.

Best thing I have done to the Hammock, set up is cake and adjustments are even easier. Now if I could just find a quick way to set up my tarp I would be all set.

I cut short the suspension ropes on my Hennessy Exped Asym. I attached rings on the small length at the hammock. I then tied one end of the longer cut rope to one end of the tree hugger, attached a beener to the other end of the tree hugger for clipping, I then feed the other end of the long rope through the rings. Set up and adjustment is really quick.
I did it this way because I tried poly straps and had a failure due to abrasion that dropped me.

Oh, forgot to mention, I'm now waiting for the Dutch clips to sub in for the beeners.
