Whoopies too long for tree distance?

I always put these situations up.......

I made my own whoopies and was very impressed with them. They seem super long. I didn't do "great" measuring, so they might be a little longer than 6 ft. I think that this is the right length for a set.

My question is.....what happens if the tree distance is not far enough a part to use the whoopies? This occurs in my backyard, but I suppose could happen in the woods. Though, I know I could keep walking to find another set, I am looking for a solution when I can't find another tree set that is far enough apart.

Continuous loops and/or soft shackles might be a good backup. Plus they can be multi-purpose.

    How far apart??

One trick I've done is run the whoopie thru the straps, then connect the whoopies together over the hammock (like a second ridgeline.) I used a 'biner or nacra 'biner. 6' whoopies + biner and a little adjusting can put you between some tight spaces.
I toggled my strap tight to the tree.

How the whoopie sling is made and installed will affect the shortest that it can be adjusted. To have the shortest possible installation during construction you will want to make sure your bury is the minimum required (I don't have the charts or formulas handy, but they are available - it depends on the line diameter) and you need to make your bury exit as close as possible to the buried tail of your fixed loop. When installing your fixed loop on your hammock, you can wrap around the hammock twice to take some of the distance between the loop and bury exit, thus shortening the minimum distance needed.

Thanks everyone. My whoopies fixed eyes are buried in the ends of my HH, I don't think that I am going to add continuous loops to the hammock to have the option in the video, but what a great idea that I wish I knew before. I do have the fixed eye and my bury exit very close!

I will try the whoopie going through the strap. I would have never tried that, thinking it was not strong enough.

luckily I had perfect weather and didn't have to worry but I was curious.

If not, you could always tie drip strings on the continuous loops.

+1 on Tendertoe's simple, but effective ideas. Came in very handy for me just recently.
