Just wanted to say hello and that i am a complete newb when it come to hammocks. Never done it, never thought about it but it sure sounds better than the ground as i get older. Not sure where to start yet, prepare for questions, lol.

You're certainly in the right place. May I humbly suggest looking for and reading the stickies? There's a lot of very good info there, a heck of a lot of accumulated wisdom. I'd also advise not getting too paralyzed by all the hammock choices. Just read some reviews, figure out your budget and pull the trigger on one. If you find something better later.....well, that's why I have two now, even though I can only use one at a time.
