    Northern WI Hang (Porcupine Lake)

This past weekend at the Porcupine Lake Wilderness area in northern WI went excellent. We were surprised with snow Friday evening and had a solid blanket at one point of the night (witnessed by everyone else but me because I was sound asleep, ha). I did wake up early enough to catch the flurries and gather enough snow to boil some water for some tea. The rest of the weekend stayed pretty dry with the occasional mist and some very welcomed sun mid-day Saturday. We hit a low of (29?) on Saturday night and everyone stayed pretty warm!

Gsx-rboy750 and I hiked a good way around the lake trying to find some decent spots to cast from, unfortunately they were few and far between. We ended up deciding that a spring hang portaging in with canoes would get us in with some good fishing.

To round out the crew Grizzly Outdoors and Paintballpro2 came up from Park Falls to also brave the anticipated soggy weather. They found an excellent spot for a winter hang (which if this goes down it will be awesome and I will be there).

We all had a great time talking around the campfire, eating tasty brats (thanks again JP!), and bushwhacking around the Wilderness Area.

It was great meeting you guys and I hope to hang again with you all!

And on that note here are a few iPhone pictures.

I almost went, but my transportation would have been my Suzuki dual sport. Rain and snow wouldn't have been fun on that.

Oh Oh either means a EVO is being modded or fixed?? You would have been BA of the year if you showed up on a dual!!!

OK so I got some pics to post and 2 short updates while I was sitting in the hammock before bed. PLEASE cut the video a break. My apple is in need of attention before I can make and edit videos again.

It was kinda of funny on Friday when I arrived. It was like the scene from Saving Private Ryan when a bunch of broken plattons meet up not knowing each other and form a little squad. We all attacked fire wood and Grizz and PaintBall had a fire going in 10 mins even in the foul weather. D-Burrito and I were a little shy on bottom insulation but on during the second day we made a trip to the car and ghetto rigged some and where toasty on night two.
Everyone pitched in and it was a great weekend leaving everyone asking when is the next hang?

Time for some pics and vid in order.

Looks great. I'm guessing the bugs are not in the picture down that way any longer? I'm heading to the Iron River area next weekend and want to go "sans net" if possible.
If your lucky enough to be outdoors, your lucky enough!

On that note I have some good news. Last night my HG incubator 0 finally arrived. I set it up on the back porch and made the mistake of letting my girlfriend try it first. She wouldn't get out, ha.

Now I'm really looking forward to the next hang!

The Evo needs to be fixed, which always means an upgrade. $2,000 worth. Nice pix, wish I had gone.
