The taut-line hitch is on there too. (Tautline and Bowline, my two favorite knots)
I was trying to figure out how to make the bowline "slippery"... thanks for the link.

Man once again the youtube monster sucked me in again. I can't watch just one. 25 minutes later I am runnning away.
It does make me want to get a square or rectangular tarp and work on my ground setups.

it's also called a trucker's hitch, basically just twist the middle of the line to form a loop, then stick a bight through it and tighten. depending on which side your bight comes from, the loop will either cinch down or stay open when you start cranking down. you could also just tie an overhand on a bight instead, the advantage is with the first method, is that it is slippery, you can just pop it out.
also, with a ridgeline, you end up having this loop in the same general area every time, and it can wear the line out. i just found some 1/2" welded steel rings at strapworks. weighs somewhere between 1 and 2 grams, and plenty strong for a tarp. you have to specify the lighter ones, which are not listed on the website.
it's probably not best to crank it down extremely tight(unless you are using a seperate ridgeline). the ridge seam will stretch fairly easily, and you don't want to stretch it too much, which is easy to do with a trucker's hitch.
Thats was a pretty cool video. I love seeing how other people do different thiings in setup, then I take their awsome idea, and somehow make it my own (ie my risk zHammck HH clone. I post a pic at some point.) I like how he used the other pullouts to distrubite the pull on the tarp. I had a Etwoah Outfitters 8x10 siltarp rip on me because i had the ridgeline WAY too tight, so maybe ill try this at some point.

Does anyone know a good site that goes over all the ground tarp setups? I tried searching and can't find any.
