I have been in 4 new stations at work in past year, the FIRST thing I did (after locating the privy of course) is try to figure out a place to hang "just in case".
And, YES I look at every group of trees with the thought "could I hang there?"

When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.

I do this too, and I have a theory that it is because it never seems to be as easy to find a good set of trees when camping as one would expect. The woods are filled with trees, and they are either too far away, too close together, widow-makers, too exposed to wind, too many sticker-bushes or other undergrowth, etc.... We've been conditioned to hunt for the perfect location
