I have an SRL on my ENO and of course my WB's have them. I have been doing a lot of exploring in my city, various parks and wooded areas and so I have been using my ENO and Traveler a lot.
The SRL is great for hanging gear and is useful for trees that are far apart where I cannot get the straps high enough on the trees to attain the proper 30 degree angle. Last night I tried loosening and tightening it for different sag angles and I found it comfortable in all the different sags I tried. \for me the SRL also gets in the way sometime if I want to sit or lay perpendicular. I think I may try using it without the SRL and maybe just carry it in case I need it. I'll see how often (if ever) I end up putting it back on. I think I got so focused on getting the perceived ideal SRL length (.83) that I forgot to focus on simply how it feels.
Anyone here ditch their SRL's or anyone here can't live without them? I have read some members say even an inch or two can make a difference but I am unable to tell the difference.
(EDIT: I mean to say the SRL is not that important to me and not as a general statement.)
