Alright - went to the local park and hung the hammock (minus the side lines). Very simply like everyone said.
I was nervous getting into it - "is this thing really gonna hold my weight," etc.
It did a great job!
Thanks all.

you doing a baffled down or a synth quilt?
the synth quilt is easy... just a box as far as sewing skills you don't need them... the synth is basic simple... nothing like just doing it....
a baffled down quilt is more complex.... But a sewn through down would be straight forward as well as long as you didn't to the differntial cut.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

down for sure.
Sewn thru quilt... put the right sides of the fabric Top and bottom) together and sew around the perimeter leaving the fourth side unsewn. That's where the end of the tubes will be. Turn the bag so the right sides are out. Mark off the channels for your down and stitch across the quilt from the closed side to the open side. Do that for each channel.
Fill the channels with the down. Fold over the open ends and hold closed with pins or whatever. When the channels are full fold the open side over like you would a potato chip bag... shake the down away from the fold and sew the fold down.
Like I say... do it yourself.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
