Ladies and gents,
Without (much more) ado: I present to you my first ever home made hammock.
A HUGE shoutout goes to TheXringHunt who sent me the AutoCad files I used as base for the design (slight modifications since I'm a OCD afflicted pain in the butt )
I made this for my 7 yo son - and it turned out great (5 yard rule applies to some of the stitching, but that's okay). I thought it would be on the small side being only 8ft - but now that he tested it I probably could have gotten away with even less...
It's made from 0.88 oz/sqy breathable parachute ripstop nylon.
Suspension is 2mm dyneema UCR with a small prussik attached as a backup. Treehuggers are 6 and 8ft respectively; I'll probably invest in some more lightweight carabiners (the ones I used now are extras I have from climbing). The stuff sack has 2 different colors of drawstrings so he'll know where the head-end of the hammock is.
So much for the ado - here's the pictures:

Once again, a HUGE thanks to all HF members who provided inspiration and guidance here (and on Youtube )
