The day after trip report.
My calves are tight and my lower back a little sore. Other than that my body and spirit are good.
My DIY G4 pack had a rear large mesh pocket lower seam completely fail. No loss of gear, just had to move stuff around. I'll stitch it up and reinforce it a little.
My food was almost all gone. I shared my trail mix with the boys. I returned with some extra coffee and hot chocolate mix as well.
Not sure how I packed two beanies, and two pack towels. Those could have been left behind.
I saw other HF members with those origami bowls. I decided to give that a try. They work great and clean easy enough, but I'm not sure if it a necessity.
Probably did not need to bring my bug net. But in Florida that's a DO or Die choice. LOL
We had a good time and learned allot from the mistakes of the others we were with. I hope they learned as much from us, to make their journeys better.

Nice trip report! How many scouts started out on the hike? Liked the pics! Looked liked it was great weather. Love this time of year, just enough warm and cool nights.
Nice trip report. A few of us older HF members were nearby, out in the Withalacootchee SF. It was a very pleasant weekend. Those scouts of your's got some miles on their feet this weekend. Thanks for encouraging the youngsters into the outdoors!

I like the fact that they got out there and gave it a shot, even if they didn't all make it. I hope your right and they learn from the overpacking and mistakes to give it another shot.
Great miles in with the little ones. Keep it up and see you soon on a trail.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
here it is.
