Hey everybody! I am a speed demon when it comes to setting up my camp and taking it down. I have configured my tarp by attaching it permanently to continuous loop prussics on my ridgeline so that i don't have to use toggles and suffer from the weight of mini biners. My ideal strategy is: minimal weight, maximum speed. From doing trips i realize that mileage is due in a large part to time spent setting up/taking down camp. One can end up losing an 1-2 hours depending on ones speed.
So i would like you all to list the things you do to your hammock/tarp setups to speed up takedown/setup. I have heard of people stowing their hammocks with their UQ's attached, and their topquilts inside, seems like a good idea. You would need one giant stuff sack for that, if anyone is doing something similar, please elaborate.
Also Sam @ BPL posted this, which i think we need to find ways to apply to hammocking:
"Minimize Steps - I pack my quilt into my pack while its still inside my bivy sack. This is faster and it also creates a redundant waterproofing system within the confines of my pack/pack liner. "

This method is a great idea IMO.
So share your speed secrets for hammock setups for those of us who like to see as much as we can(mileage).
Just to reiterate, we are looking for ways to speed up setting up/taking down our setups without adding weight, or adding miniscule weight.
