There is a good possibility that my son will will now think about attending. I presented him with an HH Expedition and he asked me when can he expect an under quilt.

i have GPS tracks of the Batona trail or you can wing it and just compass/map it through the woods.

I've been hiking there for a couple of years and still aren't that familiar with this neck of the woods. Could have something to do with getting lost a lot.
I'm interested in a pre-hike. This might be my first hike after Hurricane Sandy.
I still have on my to-do list a hike of the entire Batona Trail (53 miles), though I may be out of hiking shape by January, and the weather (think snow) might change my thinking/equipment.
I'm interested in hiking in with you guys but not yet sure yet how much time I'll have, with any luck I could get Wednesday and Thursday. I also want to talk to Dan about this as well although I'm sure he'll be up for it. Also like to get your take on how weather conditions would factor in as I don't have any experience backpacking in winter (I have done some winter camping but that's a bit different I think). I think we would have equipment to rated to 20*
Maybe another thread would be good on this topic as Karl suggests?
see you on the trail,
Mike
