Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
That was a very exciting TR! You are a true Hammock Savant now.
Way to hang tough and pass on the news of your trip.
Good on ye'!

Had me on the edge of my hammock chair. Great report!
That's a pretty complete test of both gear and courage. I know I'd be worried when I started to hear things falling around me. Way to hang tough.
Trust nobody!
Call me crazy, but that sounded like a fun trip! Well, aside from wondering if a tree was going to fall on you...

Great gear. Great trip. Great report. Thanks for sharing such a good trip.
I know what you mean about the rain in the woods. I love it. I've been sleeping in a hammock in the backyard for 3 nights anticipating rain but the weatherfolks keep pushing its arrival back after each day it doesn't rain.
Two weeks ago I was in the hammock in the backyard and was awoken 5 times by an oak tree apparently shedding live limbs as big around as your leg. One went through the shed roof! And we had all the dead limbs removed from that tree 3 months ago. I also wake up each night I'm in the hammock to acorns hitting the shed, the wooden swingset or the metal firepit cover. Man, those things are LOUD in the still of the night.
Again, thanks for sharing a great time!
EXCELLENT READ ... really great adventure ... thanks for sharing it. That's a bit nerve wrecking listening to things falling all around you.
Especially considering the rain and flooding that Ga got this weekend. Glad you had a great weekend and came through it safely.
I watched some of the news on Slingbox from over here and that was some nasty weather!!!
Way to go!

wow....the only thing you could have done to make the trip more intense would have been to hang your hammock 20-30 ft off the ground off a couple of those branches that were falling. But seriously, I think the part that would have bothered me the most would have been those acorns.
Great report! I love the rain camping.. it's a "crazy" thing I guess.
Super report. The only thing missing is a pic of the young lady's face upon check-in... I did not have my camera ready one rainy weekend at chck-in either.
