I thought I would make do for a few more months with my Chinese made camo hammock I got from an Army Surplus store, with a Guide Gear camo fly, a Wiggy's poncho liner for an underquilt, and a CCF pad inside.
Then I saw Rasputen's Odds & Ends post.
Mrs. Hennessey took my order this morning for an Explorer UL Asym, with Supershelter and Snakeskins. The total was close to the list price for the hammock alone. What a bargain!
Thanks, Rasputen!

I have to stop reading this thread or I'm going to buy one and spend the money I'm supposed to be saving for house renovations to keep the other half happy...
Well, repeating Griz's mantra did not save me. I got a return call( on my cell phone) from Ann this morning, while I was hiking. I ordered the netless Safari with hex Poly PU fly. And I started to order some more as gifts, or just some more without the fly.
I did this even though I reserved a JRB bridge hammock a couple of days ago! And even though I have been on the verge of pulling the trigger on a Treklight ( awaiting Cannibal's full report). I need medication.
Where's the expendable cash when you need it!?!?!?
Get busy living, or get busy dying.
shoot, I hope they still have some left.
and grizz, think of it this way, if you have any more hammocks you will have to pay camping tax, in the form of (at least) 2 hammocks to me! ( or 1 with a MacCat
saw this, and the first thing that popped into my head was a snippet from the Beatles song "Taxman"
Now if you took 95% of my hammocks I'd notice. Only 2? Hmm...Let me tell you how it will be;
There's one for you, nineteen for me.
'Cause I’m the taxman,
Yeah, I’m the taxman.
