how about cpvc for toggles? 1/2 inch or so . was cleaning out my shed and ran across a bunch of pieces from replacing lines last winter.. seems like it would work, strong stuff.

To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug.
