I must admit it was Shug's videos that got me off the ground. showed me the light, and elevated me here to a better place. Also I must say the man is **** funny to boot !

Whether trail or paddle don't you know
My hammock is the way to go
There peace and solitude I find
To ease all troubles from my mind
Both body and soul revel in delight
As day surrenders to inky night
Shug.. does that mean you are offically unoffical
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Shug is addicting!...I am pretty sure that just about all of us can go around and add something to the list.....wonder how long it would be????
I believe this to be not only a right of passage, but also a quite necessary event that in some cases needs to be orchestrated. After allowing ground-dwellers to try out my hammock, I am usually met with threats of theft, and a general overall grumpiness from non-hangers in my group.
Try this - set it up, test it out, fall out. That way nobody wants to get in and you don't feel bad because they simply don't know

Someone showed me Shug's videos, and then after watching them, Shug got me interested in hammocking. Plus I don't own a tent or a hammock, so even more reason to buy a hammock, as I do need a shelter.
LOL...one night I had the bright idea I was going to have one side of my hammock attached to my jeep and the other to a long 2x6 secured by lines and tent pegs. It sounded great. I got in the hammock, slammed to the ground, then realized, "oh crap, that 2x6 is coming down, probably in my direction." It did, with a whoomp and thankfully missed me by about a foot. Live and learn I guess.
I don't know ... I don't see a DIY requirement in the list! GOT to have a DIY requirement, dontcha think?!
