I have a home-made hammock and after lying in it for several hours one afternoon, I noticed my shoulders ached from the hammock pushing them together. Are there any simple tweeks to alleviate this?
Thanks,
Rob

What kind of Hammock do you have, how do you hang it, how do you lay in it . . . ? ? ?

It is made from a bed sheet I got at good will. I hang it kind of loosely and try to lie in it diagonally.
Thanks,
Rob
Maybe it is too short and narrow. A longer and wider one may allow a more diagonal roomy lay. Just thinking.
Don't let life get in the way of living.
It may just take some getting used to. Try sliding down to the foot-end some. Or try putting a camping pad in the hammock to open it up some.
Hope it all works out.

The sheet is almost certainly too small. You really need a piece of material about 10 feet long. Get 3 or 4 yards of non-stretchy material from the $1 bin at Walmart (or somewhere) and try that. If you have a choice I prefer the stuff that is 60 inches wide as opposed to 48. That should help a lot.
Ripstop nylon, preferably 1.1oz or greater... A 100% polyester material will work, but hard to find any . Walmart usually has some ripstop laying around in the seconds bin. Basically you are looking for material with very little to no stretch. Cotton, or blended material (bedsheet material) will stretch and change the shape of how you lay over time, or break.

Nylon Taffeta works wonderfully and it's usually around 2 bucks a yard. And you can get it in subtle colors too. I'm ready to make one as soon as my sewing machine gets tuned up.

Too short. Go to the walmart bargain bin and get 4 yards (12 feet) of $1.50 per yard ripstop and try that. build a gathered end and lay diagonal.
