I saw this while surfing the net, and thought it might have some applicability to hammock camping.

I'm with wisenber. It would keep me warm!
The fur being on the inside, you're going to compress it and really reduce it's insulation ability. That's all a tactile thing. If you flipped it inside out, then you might have something, but it would still be *much* heavier than down or synthetics like Climashield.
There's a reason they developed the synthetic insulation to replace fur.

some have fur on the outside as well. it looks like it would get real dirty real fast.
It's obviously unsuitable for camping but could be good for indoor hanging.

+1 on the indoor hanging. Looks sexy and fun to me. Is it a double hammock???

I have a Australian sheep skin, actually two, each about 6 x 4 ft, (4 skins sown together) i use when car camping @ a hang or with a friend in below 70* weather. Fits perfect in any of my hammocks from wbbb, WLno, eno and i use both when using one of the wide sit in hammocks like a eno double deluxe or hammock bliss triple, purr-fect for two sitting watching sunset and having liq refreshments. So very comfortable to sleep on, and have had fellow hangers lust for them, so you have to keep an eye on'em, Anyway I've seen them sell for upwards of 5 or 6 hundred, but found them for bout $130 online, and worth every cent, a friend of mine told me, its just wrong to sleep by yourself on one of these, they are very nice and can use as a rug on couch. again just another approach. definitely not for use with my backpack, btw used down to 30* and with tq was snug and warm.
